With a sophisticated new look, comprehensively updated interior, and more advanced technology than ever before, Transit Connect has evolved.
The trademark Transit toughness, durability and functionality still remain, in features including an ingenious load-through bulkhead and flexible front passenger seating.
With short and long wheelbase options providing load volumes up to 3.6m³ (VDA), payload capacity of up to 982kg, and bodystyles including van and double-cab-in-van.
But this is now an exceptionally sophisticated van equipped with valuable drive-assist technologies many of which are not available in cars today.
Others help keep drivers connected, hands-free; to help them control and monitor their speed; and even to help protect pedestrians in their path.
Technology has also improved fuel economy and lowered emissions, and with them, those all-important running costs.
Ford SYNC 3 is an advanced system that enables you to stay connected and control your phone, music and navigation system. Choose either voice commands or the 6” colour touchscreen with pinch-and-swipe gestures for intuitive navigation. Live Traffic can help you avoid the jams. You can even call up a list of local restaurants simply by saying “I’m hungry”.
The Transit Connect now comes with Intelligent Speed Assist, designed to enhance your speed control and enabling you to concentrate on the road. First, the Traffic Sign Recognition camera automatically detects the current speed limit (when activated), then the system adjusts your maximum speed setting to that limit.
Our 75 PS, 100 PS and 120 PS TDCi diesel engines impress with their refined power and superb efficiency. On town or city roads to long drives on the motorway, their smooth torque delivery is invaluable or inclines or when overtaking.
Available on all van versions with a dual front passenger seat, an ingenious load-through bulkhead lets you carry items up to 3m long in a short wheelbase van (L1) and up to 3.4m in a long wheel-base model (L2). The bulkhead has a flip-up hatch at the bottom, which you can slide long items through and into a storage area beneath the front passenger seats. Behind the bulkhead, there’s room for two Euro-pallets (in L1) or up to four 8’ x 4’ sheets of material (in L2).
Pre-Collision Assist detects vehicles and pedestrians in the road ahead. It can even detect pedestrians that may be about to cross the vehicle’s path. The system warns you if it detects a potential collision and if you don’t respond it will automatically apply the brakes. This technology is designed to help reduce the severity of accidents, or help avoid them altogether, and functions at speeds of up to 80km/h.
Whether you own one van or manage a fleet up to five, the FordPass Pro app unlocks their smart side. Designed specifically for business vehicles, with features like SecureAlert and Vehicle Health Alerts, FordPass Pro helps you keep your vans on the road, your cargo secure, and your business moving in this connected world.
Active Park Assist can steer you into parallel or perpendicular parking spaces. Simply push a button and the sensors of this innovative system locate a suitable space as you drive past. Then it automatically steers you in, while all you do is operate the accelerator, gears and brake (following on-screen instructions and audible signals). It will pull out off parallel spaces as well.
The Pre-collision Assist detects vehicles and pedestrians in the road ahead, or who could cross the vehicle's path, and warns you of their presence. If you don't respond, the system automatically applies the brakes. This technology is designed to help reduce the severity of accidents, or help avoid them altogether, and functions at speeds of up to 80km/h (50 mph).
HVO is based on waste oils, it's a form of renewable paraffinic diesel fuel produced from a wide variety of raw materials including waste cooking oil using conventional oil refinement processes. Also known as renewable diesel, Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil can be used in Ford Transit vans in place of regular diesel, without any vehicle modifications. HVO gives transparent cold temperature start times versus regular diesel fuel. It can even be mixed with regular Diesel in your fuel tank, so no worries if there's no HVO nearby. Compared with conventional fossil fuels, HVO is more environmentally friendly alternative that can significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions compared to pump diesel, particularly if made from recycled raw materials.
